Please contact us by phone 023 8022 4827 or email if you need further guidance

Covid-19 - published 18.3.20

During the current Coronavirus outbreak we are taking extra steps to protect repairers and you when your instrument is returned. Current advice is that the virus can last for as long as 9 days on some surfaces.

As a result of this advice any repair left during this outbreak will not be play tested by the repairer until after this time has passed. The instrument will then be repaired and returned. We would advise for your protection that you allow the same time frame to pass before it is used after it has been collected.

We reserve the right to refuse instruments for repair or suspend repair activity should this be required. These measures are being put into place to protect all parties.

We trust you accept and understand this position.

SERVICING of a flute comprises checking pads for “leaks”, checking and regulating key mechanisms to eliminate free play and restore correct opening, checking head stop cork and tenon fit, cleaning and lubrication. Head stop corks will normally be replaced if adjustment is required and the stop position will be adjusted to factory setting. Leaking pads may be rectified by adjustment or replacement. Key felts and corks will be replaced if necessary. Pads used are deluxe yellow skin.

PRICE GUIDE to service a flute is from £70 - £200 including VAT where applicable. Complete re-pad and overhaul will cost more than £200.

REPAIRS. Specific repairs such as minor regulation adjustments or restoring damaged tenons can be carried out if requested. There is a minimum charge of £25.

PLAYING TEST ON COMPLETION OF WORK. All instruments are tested by playing after repair to ensure they are functioning properly and to a standard in keeping with their age and quality.
